HBC Senior Athlete Scholarship Application

The Highlander Booster Club is proud to award ten $500 scholarships to senior student athletes who plan to continue their education. To be considered for a scholarship, your family MUST be a member of the Highlander Booster Club by 1/31. If you are not sure if your family is a member, your parent or guardian can contact the Membership Chair (see our website for contact information) for confirmation.

To be considered for a HBC scholarship, please submit your application via the Google form (linked below) opening on February 1st. The google form will close on April 15th of the award year. The GL scholarship committee will review applications and they will select the recipient. The recipient's name will be announced at the Highlander Booster Club Senior Student Athlete Banquet held in June.

CRITERIA: (Please review before applying)

Scholarships are awarded to a student in any sport who best exemplifies the ideals outlined in the Governor Livingston High School Rules of Conduct:

Good Sportsmanship; Respect for players, coaches, officials and fans; Dedication to sport and team

In addition, the following criteria will be considered:

Good Character and Reputation, Leadership, and Grade Point Average are consistent with the standards outlined in the Rules of Conduct.

You will need to complete a Google Form (see link below) to apply for the scholarship and the following information will be requested:

-Personal Name and contact information

-Are you a member of the Highlander Booster Club? (Must be a member by 1/31)

-Your athletic achievements during your high school career at GLHS.

-Different sports teams you participated as a Highlander.

-Number of years on each level- Freshman, JV and Varsity.

-The list of your extra-curricular activities as a student at GLHS. (Clubs, Honors, Awards and Leadership positions you may have held within the club). In addition, please list any volunteer work you have completed at GLHS or outside the school community.

-You will be asked to list any records (school, conference, county and/or state) that you earned as a Highlander Student Athlete.

-You will be asked if you hold any honors, awards or recognition (All-Conference, All-County, All-State, All-American, Various Athlete of the Week, Member of Athletic Honor Society) that were earned as a Highlander Student Athlete.

-You will be asked to briefly describe what being a Highlander Student Athlete has meant to you during your high school athletic career.

-Finally, you will be asked to review the following Disclaimer and electronically sign the application:

Disclaimer: I understand and accept the proposition that if a scholarship is awarded to me and a school or college does not accept me, or if I elect not to further my education, the granting of the scholarship will be void. I will notify the Highlander Booster Club if my plans for attending school or college change.

Ten scholarships are awarded to senior student athletes.
